My Vintage Thingies Thursday

I have been trying to participate with

Suzanne's Vintage Thingies Thursday

for a while now but I always seem to miss it!

Not this Thursday I am all over it! So go and check out her blog to see what else others are showing off of their Vintage Thingies :)

I have this ♥ for antique quilts but know nothing about them! I am just drawn in to the color and patterns!

So I am seeking some help here at the same time as showing off the pretty quilt I just found! How do I date the quilt and how can I find the name of the pattern. The reason I ask is the lady I bought this from said it was from the early 1900's. So before I toss in the ~~washer~~ maybe you can tell how I should carefully wash it also.. ( it smells a little musky from sitting in the trunk)

Gypsy Brocante Rosette Swap ...

She handmade me this adorable polka dot bag filled with goodies!!

The large Rosette is made with a vintage shirt that was falling apart! I just loved the fabric, so I wanted to make something with it and look how pretty it turned out!

Tie Creations in my Whimsy Mind

The other day while looking for something to dress up my tee shirt and remembering I had just done the rosette swap. A light bulb moment went off in my head to make a rosette while still keeping a tie style for my tee shirt! Simply adorable!

I like to use pure silk ties they are just easier to shape and sew ...

When my teen girls saw it on, they too feel in love with them! This is such a great way to re-purpose old vintage ties! I added a little "bling" for the picture but, I believe either way these ties are great way of dressing up any plain old tee shirt or blouse.

I would love to know what you think and see what you are creating this week...

A weekend full of junking!!

You can say I was a little bit out of my mind this weekend! I decide to go yard sales on of the hottest day in Southern Cali .. temp 107 .. YIKES. Well it was actually to my advantage everyone wanted to get rid of things so I was going thru box after box and just rummaging and finding tons of treasures!
